Multi-Session Events
Multi-Session Events in Simple Events let you create multiple related sessions under one event while still managing each session separately. This gives you more flexibility in how you register attendees, send emails, and build workflows.
How Multi-Session Events Work
Multi-Session Events allow you to have multiple related sessions under one event experience while still managing each session individually.
Each child session acts as its own session with its own registration and event data. This means contacts need to be registered for the specific child session they plan to attend, not just the parent event. To make that happen, you can use workflows to route registrants into the correct child sessions based on your setup.
This gives you flexibility in how you manage the attendee journey. You can decide how registrations are assigned, how emails are triggered, and how automation supports the overall event experience.
If you are using segmentation features, you can also build smart lists and smart segments to organize contacts based on the sessions they selected or joined.
Email and Workflow Flexibility
With Multi-Session Events, you have full control over how emails and workflows are set up.
You can decide how confirmation emails are sent, how follow-up communication works, and how contacts move through your automation. The workflow feature can still be turned on, which allows you to customize the registration process and communication flow based on your needs.
The email examples may need to be edited to match your setup, but the structure gives you the flexibility to build the experience that works best for your event.
Registering Contacts for Child Sessions
An important part of Multi-Session Events is making sure contacts are registered for the correct child sessions.
Since each child session is managed individually, registrants need to be assigned to the session they actually plan to attend. Workflows can help automate this process and make sure contacts are routed correctly.
This is especially useful when attendees are choosing between multiple session options.
Using Smart Lists and Smart Segments
If you turn on the segment feature, you can use Smart Lists and Smart Segments to better organize and manage your registrants.
These tools can help you group contacts based on the child sessions they selected, support more targeted communication, and make automation easier to manage.
A Simpler Experience Is Coming
A larger update is in progress with a new CMS module.
For customers using HubSpot landing pages or HubSpot website pages, this module will make child session selection much easier. It will support options like radio buttons, dropdowns, and checkboxes so attendees can choose their session directly on the page.
Once available, Simple Events will handle that selection process automatically, reducing the need to build the same logic manually through workflows.
Summary
Multi-Session Events give you a flexible way to manage related sessions within one event while still keeping control over each session individually.
